Peer Navigator
W.A.R.M (We All Really Matter) is a not-for-profit organization comprised of domestic violence survivors along with their allies who are committed to ending violence against women and children in the Harlem community. We empower survivors through a holistic approach, focusing on the body, mind and spirit.
W.A.R.M seeks full time, client centered peer navigators to support the needs of survivors on their path to safety and independence.
Key Responsibilities

Provide program orientation to new clients.

Assist clients in conflict resolution.

Assist clients to meet individual goals.

Provides training in developing coping strategies for women recovering from domestic violence.

Help gather and compile information regarding W.A.R.M. resources.

Navigate between new client and W.A.R.M. team.

Navigate referral system.

Follow up and assist with client service engagement.

Serve as a role model for clients by proactively modeling independence and safe living.

Distribute transportation funds as needed and document distribution.

Escort clients to court appointments.

Assist with court, police involvement, and order of protections.
Qualifications
● Knowledge of domestic violence issues, including challenges and services needs
● Good interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
● Able to effectively brainstorm with W.A.R.M staff
● Commitment to assist, relate to and effectively work with other women recovering from a domestic violence situation, empathetically
● Minimum of one year in social services field, preferably working with victims
● 2- or 4-year college graduate
● Familiarity with Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
● Organized and detail oriented
● Good verbal and written communications, effective interpersonal skills
● Bi-lingual in Spanish, French highly considered, but not required
